Introduction and Reflections
We did this last semester in order to find about problems and differences in generations. The hard part is the interviewing, since my mother refused to corporate.. She thought that some questions were hard to answer.

A Trouble of Generation
Part
I: Introduction
I’m interested in the topic of generation. I’m interested in it because it is so close to my life. I live with my mom, stay with her, communicate with her every day, and my father comes and see me and my brother nearly every weekends. We met every day, and know each other better than anyone.
I already know that almost everybody have conflicts with their parent during this period between teenage and adult. We think we are old enough to take some responsibility ourselves, but our parents sometimes still think we are little children. We need to understand each other.
Part II: What I want to find out.
I hope I can find out how to get along well with my mother, and deal with problems by communicating and discussing rather than arguing. Maybe we both need to control our temper when the fire of war sparkles. I hope we can have more understanding and respect for each other in this research.
The main questions will be:
1. How do other people around me think about my mother ?
2. How does Morrie think about this topic?
3. How does my parents think about me?
Sub questions will be:
1. Does everybody communicate with their parents?
Part III The story of my search
Source I : Interview
The person I interviewed is tiger, who sits right beside me, and was happy to answer my questions. We were in the classroom during English, when the interview took place. I asked him several questions.
1. Do you have conflicts with your parents?
2. Do you communicate with your parents?
3. Do you fight with your parents?
4. Do you have moments that hate your parents?
He answered all my questions immediately. He does not have communication problems with his parents. He communicates with his parents. He doesn’t fight with his parents. He doesn’t have moment that hates his parents.
From this interview, I came to the conclusion that not everybody has conflicts or problems with their parents. There are ways to make the relationship better.
Source 2: Tuesdays with Morrie
Tuesdays with Morrie is a book written by Album Mitch, an American writer. It is a moving story about the last lessons he had with his dying professor, and they meet every Tuesdays.
From this book, Morrie’s opinion on this topic is that family is not only about love, but also about someone that will never get up on you when you are ill, helpless, or hopeless. The quote is: “This is part of what a family is about, not just love, but letting others know there’s someone who is watching out for them. It’s what I missed so much when my mother died---what I call your ‘spiritual security’—knowing that your family will be there watching out for you. Nothing else will give you that. Not money. Not fame.”(92)
To have a family is very important, at least you have someone to trust, and you cannot get that family from any other persons. Your friend and colleague maybe only visit you because you were their best buddy or best colleague, they care for you, but you are not the most important person for them.
Source 3 : An article, website, or video
For this part of the research, I found an article called Talking to your parents- or Other Adults. I hope to find a way to communicate in this article.
“Talk About Everyday Stuff — and Do It Every Day
The more you do something, the easier it gets. Talking to the adults in your life about everyday stuff builds a bond that can smooth the way for when you need to discuss something more serious.” Says the paragraph.
I learned that the start of communication should be done in small things, we don’t need to wait until we see problems.
Part IV: Reflections on My Search
Maybe sometimes I think my father and mother are bad and even hate them, but one thing I can make sure is they love me, and I need to understand when I think they are giving the wrong instructions, because everything they did is to try their best to love their children and they hopes me to be better and better.
My mother says she was in the worst Jr High when she was young, and she spent small amount of time studying.
Maybe I’ll be more patient to listen to what my parents have to say, and consider their suggestions as a very important source of what I act.
